Wind breaker

In early summer 2024, we had the pleasure of collaborating with the artist Paky Vlassopoulou on the construction of the sculpture Winbreaker for the Odera Tinos hotel.
The piece is a structure made from stabilized adobe bricks with hydraulic lime, produced on-site in specially designed wooden molds of specific shapes. It is located in a spot where one can see it from all sides while descending the path towards the beach. If someone wishes, they can approach it, enter it to shelter from the strong Tinian winds, meditate, and relax while gazing at the sea.It is inspired by the structure of the artichoke, a characteristic local vegetable of Tinos.
Paky Vlassopoulou is a contemporary Greek visual artist, known for her experimental work that includes sculpture, installations, and mixed media. Her work often focuses on concepts related to nature, landscape, memory, and the relationship between humans and both the natural and built environment. She has participated in exhibitions in Greece and abroad, and her work has been noted for its use of diverse materials and its strong symbolic language.
